Our Story
After navigating her own self-build journey and supporting family through theirs, founder Lorna Conlon saw first-hand how difficult it is to fully understand a home from 2D plans alone, and how late-stage changes can lead to significant cost increases and delays.
Rooms can look right on paper, but feel completely different in real life. Layouts that seem straightforward can create awkward spaces, poor spatial flow or small frustrations that only become obvious once construction has already started.
And by that stage, changes are no longer simple. They are expensive, time-consuming and often stressful.

Bridging the Gap
With over 14 years’ experience in the geospatial industry, specialising in 2D and 3D as-built data, Lorna had spent her career working with accurate spatial information and understanding how environments function in the real world.
Before founding The WalkThru Studio, she worked as a Geospatial Manager within a Digital Engineering team, leading multidisciplinary survey projects and delivering high-accuracy data for complex engineering and infrastructure developments.
She understood both the technical side of design and the practical reality of how spaces are experienced.
The WalkThru Studio was created to bring those two worlds together.

Why This Matters
Design changes are one of the biggest reasons building projects go over budget. Across construction projects, design changes can increase costs by 10% on average, and sometimes much more. In a typical self-build
home, that can mean tens of thousands of euro.
The WalkThru Studio helps self-builders and designers catch those issues early. For a small percentage of the cost of the build, clients can walk through their home and make decisions with confidence before construction begins.
